Objectives

The PSG strives to achieve its mission though a set of linked objectives:

• Assessing the conservation status of all pheasant species, using the IUCN Red List
• Publishing Action Plans every five years to detail information on threatened species and outline a programme of priority projects
• Publishing a newsletter (Tragopan) twice each year
• Maintaining an independent presence on the world wide web
• Contributing to the organisation of symposia and training workshops
• Operating a review and training procedure for the preparation of project proposals, project reports, management guidelines and journal publications
• Giving advice to assist with fundraising for projects
