The PSG operates under
the joint authority of the
World Pheasant Association,
BirdLife International and
the Species Survival
Commission of IUCN – The World Conservation Union. Its mission is consistent
with the aims of all three of its parent bodies:
The PSG is committed to the world wide conservation and sustainable management of native pheasant populations and their habitats.
The PSG is a voluntary self-help network of scientists, wildlife managers, conservationists, aviculturists and educators. It is particularly concerned with the plight of threatened pheasant species, and in seeking ways to conserve them as viable populations in their natural habitats whilst enhancing the quality of human life.
