1. Grouse Bibliography (pdf file) compiled and continuously maintained by Don Wolfe,
presented by species, more complete for North American grouse species than for European and Asian species, but always useful.
From October 2005, it still contains primarily manuscripts in English, but should contain the majority of manuscripts from outside of North America that ARE in English. From February 2006, papers in German, in French or in other language with an English summary are also included. In June 2007, it contains nearly 6000 citations. The pdf file is to download from the Sutton Avian Research Center website: http://www.suttoncenter.org/pubs.html pdf. Don Wolfe updates the file every month or two, so check yourself the link!

2. Grouse Bibliography compiled by Michèle Loneux for her overviews and research on European Black grouse (Tetrao tetrix) mainly, comprising papers in English and in other languages, such as German and French. Last update in January 2005; available as html file on the Cococococks web site at: http://www.etho.ulg.ac.be/cococococks/bibliography.html            THE COCOCOCOCKS WEBSITE IS TEMPORARY UNAVAILABLE :  IT IS GOING TO MOVE ! Please contact M. Loneux for any request about it :

* Editors note: The ACGRP final report is truly a monumental accomplishment, summarizing multi-state RUGR research conducted between 1996 and 2003.  The study investigated aspects of the life history, ecology, and management of ruffed grouse over 6 years in 8 states. The report can be downloaded at: http://www.dgif.state.va.us/hunting/va_game_wildlife/grouse_project.pdf or at http://www.ruffedgrousesociety.org/pdf/ACGRPFinal.pdf

Another short published report from G. Norman is downloadable at http://www.dgif.state.va.us/hunting/va_game_wildlife/grouse_status_report.pdf

There are also some electronic theses available at Virginia Tech under that names of Todd Fearer, Scott Haulton, George Bumann, Darroch Whitaker, and Patrick Devers…:
